The donkey world has lost three of its best.
Passed away on May 12, 2016
He was a long time Miniature Donkey Friend, who raised, showed and loved the mini donkey.
We all can remember how well he did in the show ring and how very many trophys he had won.
He was a true gentleman.
He was a trusted and beloved friend to all who knew him and was always there to help anyone who wanted to learn how to drive, show, raise and care for mini donkeys.
He will be truly missed amongst his friends and family
Funeral service will be on May 26, 2016 at 11:30
At The Elks Lodge
355 Gilmore Rd, Red Bluff, CA 96080
There will be a speaker, plus time for those who want to share a memory or thought, and time to eat and visit.
Just time to remember our friend Leo
Carole Murrer asks that people please refrain from contacting her at this time, She will not be accepting any calls.
RICHARD LEE SMITH - AUGUST 2, 1946 - AUGUST 27, 2014
He lived, he loved, he laughed, and he cared. If you were his friend, you were his friend for life. He treasured his family. He took care of all he loved. His magnetic personality was felt by everyone around him. He enjoyed his hobbies, especially the Miniature Donkeys. He cherished the family events and holiday get togethers. Richard loved my dad Bob, who passed away three years ago. They were the best of friends. Dad said Richard was the son he never had and Richard said Bob was the father he never had. They are both in Heaven reunited with our special dog Rosie. I miss him every day, every hour of the day. We had time to say the things we wanted to say and spend time with our family. He told me the donkey shows must go on. He would like to see us Host a National Show in Red Bluff. He doesn’t want me to quit because he won’t be there in person, but believe me, he will be with us in spirit!
He loved the donkeys and all our friends, our children and our 5 grandchildren. He was a fun, loving, honest man with a big heart and took no bull from anyone. Thank you all for the beautiful words of comfort and great stories about Richard. His wishes are for us to smile and cherish the great memories we had together. He did not want to say good-bye with a service. Keep his Spirit alive with the stories of the good times we had.
THE LOVE OF MY LIFE, MY TREASURED MEMORIES, MY SOUL MATE. UNTIL WE ARE TOGETHER AGAIN….
THANK YOU ALL FOR ALL YOUR THOUGHTS AND SUPPORT DURING THIS DIFFICULT TIME.
